A Taste of Oakville
Posted on 16 January 2018
I love to cook. There is only one thing I like better than cooking and that is when other people cook for me! I think because I cook so much, I truly appreciate the effort that goes into every dish. I also admire the creativity that professional cooks have. I am always amazed when I taste new food combinations.
It is a pretty exciting time in Oakville right now as this year’s Taste of Oakville begins. This annual event allows many old and new restaurants to really show off their chops at very reasonable prices. It is the perfect time to check out a place that has been on your radar or return to your favourites!
I am a creature of habit when it comes to restaurant menus. I always have the warm salad at Seasons, the soufflé at Jonathans, the calamari at Plank and the seafood kabob at Colossus. There is something admirable about how consistently excellent these dishes are. Every time I think I am going to get adventurous I fall back on these comfy tried and true classics! I mean, where else can you get a perfect lobster soufflé other than Jonathans?
Having said that, A Taste of Oakville is all about trying new things! I can’t wait to try the red wine braised beef short ribs at Noble, or the quinoa crusted arctic char at Piazza Bistro. And, how amazing does the carbonara pizza at Tavolo sound?
Treat yourself this winter and book a reservation at any of the wonderful restaurant participating in this year’s event. See you there!
